Box Tops Deadline is Feb 25!

BoxTops submission is around the corner! Check participating items for an easy way to have money donated back to our school.  Please submit in bags or on a collection sheet to Ms. Guzzi’s office in the MMR.




Lost & Found

It’s cold outside! Please tell your children to look in the MMR for their lost hats, gloves, mittens and more! All Lost & Found items will be donated after Family Friday next week.




LUNAR NEW YEAR ACTIVITY WITH MR. BUCKLEY: Volunteers Needed

On Monday, February 4th, Mr. Buckley will be facilitating a Lunar New Year activity in the lunchroom. It will be helpful to have a few volunteers available from 11:00am to 1:45 pm to help. If you can be available for any portion of lunch on Monday please email Mr. Buckley at mbuckley@ps154.org.

Family Friday - Special Friend or Family Day

Mark your calendars! PS 154 welcomes your child's special friend, grandparent or yourself in their classroom for a very special Family Friday. (Please note, there's not enough space in the classrooms for more than one or two family members per student.) Students and their guests will work on a project that helps the students identify all the strengths they have to draw upon. This is the project if you want to take a look.

Her writing and coaching are beautifully aligned with the PS 154 Parent SEL Committee’s goals of parenting through building connection, positive discipline and deepening our children’s and our own emotional intelligence.

WHAT: a fundraising event masquerading as a extraordinarily fun party with open bar, hors d'oeuvres, dancing and a live auction! (for grownups only, festive attire)

WHY: to show our commitment to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) at PS 154!  Without PTA funding, our kids wouldn’t have access to Tiny Scientist, the Maker Space featuring Koko, chess, music, sign language and more! Help us ensure that these enrichments continue to be part of our students’ days!

Regular admission: $95 per ticket
Super Supporter: $250 per ticket (proceeds go toward sponsoring PS 154 teacher tickets)

PS 154 SHARKS IN THE DARK AT THE NEW YORK AQUARIUM

FRI, MARCH 22, 2019, AT 6PM TO 9:30 AM THE NEXT MORNING

PS 154 students and families can experience an unforgettable sleepover at the New York Aquarium's newest exhibit, Ocean Wonders: Sharks! We'll discover the marine life of the Hudson Canyon with a behind the scenes access, a live animal encounter and fun, educational activities during this sleep "under the sea" event.

Apply Now for Exciting STEM Enrichment Programs for Spring Break!

 

Kindergarten through grade 12 students can apply now to attend exciting spring break STEM enrichment and experiential learning programs. A wide range of programs are offered at the NYC Department of Education’s Genovesi Environmental Study Center and NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Museum of the City of New York, New York Aquarium, New-York Historical Society, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens County Farm Museum, Queens Zoo, Staten Island MakerSpace, Staten Island Zoo, and Wave Hill. Student will meet and work with field experts in programs that feature real life, hands-on learning experiences.
