PS 154 Art Gallery

Sat, Feb 9, 12:00-3:00pm
FREE admission with $1 tickets for concessions

Please join us for a gallery opening in our very own school.  In past years, our school has come together as classes to create collaborative class art projects that were then entered into an auction.  This year, we’re trying something new that is focused on developing and sharing our students' individual artistry. Our budding student artists will each create a piece of art to have on display.

Each grade will have its own project, including specific materials and techniques related to the work of a specific artist.

Kindergarten will explore Kandinsky's flowers.
First grade will collage, with inspiration from Matisse.
Second Grade will go back in time to ancient Namibian charcoal drawings.
Third Grade will make self-portraits influenced by the color work of Paul Klee.
Fourth grade will learn about Hilma af Klimt's work and make a traditional or abstract plant still life. Fifth grade will follow the pencil lines of Picasso by recreating some of his master drawings...upside-down!

Art will be on display and available for you to take home. Refreshments will be served. Come join us and be inspired!
