TODAY: PS 154 GARDEN HARVEST DAY
FRI, OCT 13, 2:45-4 pm
Our fabulously green garden committee will serve food prepared from 154’s very own herbs and vegetables. Stick around after school to sample delicious and healthy fare that’s as local as it gets!
Also, the Garden Committee needs volunteers for each class. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Garden Committee Chair Rhonda Ebbesen at PTA_Info@ps154.org.
PS 154 CARES
Thank you for the help with our canned food drive and the battery and personal care drive. This is what we are doing next: Starting October 16th, we will collect baby food and diapers. Please bring to the MMR.
SCHOOL LUNCH IS FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS
New York City now provides free lunch for all school children including those at PS 154. You can see our lunch menu for October here and can always access it via the “What’s for Lunch?” link on our homepage.
TEA SCHOOL DAYS
SHOP, SAVE, AND RAISE MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL!
OCTOBER 9 - 16, 2017
You still have a few days to participate in this fundraiser. Tea Collection is a company that sells adorable kids' clothes. With this program, our school gets 15% of all sales — and you get 15% off, too! Shop at TeaSchoolDays.com (not teacollection.com) through Oct 16 and enter promo code SDF17PTAPS154 at checkout.
BOX TOPS DEADLINE IS OCT 16
We're now collecting box tops for the fall submission deadline: Mon, Oct 16! Each one collected earns a donation for our school. Here's how you can help:
- Look for the Box Tops logo on dozens of products. Here's a complete list.
- Clip the logos before you toss your empty packages, then collect them in a ziplock bag or envelope. (Be sure to take out any expired ones.)
- Place them in the bin in Ms. Guzzi's office.
SAT, OCT 21, 5-8 PM at PS 154
Boo Bash is a Saturday evening, Halloween-themed event that is highly attended and super fun for the kids. Enjoy the glow stick dance party, crafts, treats, a witches’ den, face painting, cotton candy, and dance party brought to you by our very own DJ (Coach) Sean!
GET YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE AND YOU CAN USE OUR SPECIAL WILL CALL LINE!
TUES, OCT 24, 8:30AM at PS 154
Agenda items will include:
State Assemblymember Bobby Carroll will talk about state budgeting and how it affects our school.
We are proposing a PTA expense of $1000 to support our teachers in their work with the Diversity Book Club. You will have a chance to speak if you wish, and we will all vote.
NOVEMBER FAMILY FRIDAY:
SPECIAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY DAY
FRI, NOV 3, 8:35-9:15 am
We encourage you to invite a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or special family friend to share in the joy of participating in your child's classroom from 8:35-9:15 am (our usual time for Family Friday). We hope this day will be a great opportunity for your child to share a small piece of their school experience with someone close to them. We ask that only one (maximum 2) visitors per child attend, so that there's enough room for everyone's special friends and family. We are looking forward to welcoming your child's special family and friends to PS 154!
NEW FAMILY HAPPY HOUR!
TUES, NOV 7, 6-9 PM at THE DOUBLE WINDSOR

Buy drink tickets for $6 each, at The Double Windsor on Prospect Park West, and half the proceeds go to the PTA of PS 154. Contact PTA Membership Manager Teri Roth with questions.
