THE PS 154 COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION PLAN (CEP)

Your School Leadership Team (SLT), which is the steering body for our school, has already been hard at work planning the overall goals for the school. Check out the new CEP, which sets out goals for our school to meet this school year — and action items for how to meet them. Our goals include:

(1) aligning science curriculum to new science standards
(2) implementing Responsive Classroom social and emotional learning curriculum
(3) vertical alignment for Math and English Language Arts
(4) improving reading scores of students who perform below grade level in grades K-2
(5) Increasing parent satisfaction with our school’s support of children with special needs

Do you have questions or concerns? Reach out to your SLT Parent leaders at SLT_Info@ps154.org.

WE NEED AUCTION ITEMS – FROM YOU!

Our auction committee members are already hard at work soliciting donations, however, the best and most interesting donations come from you, and those close to you, who adore your children. Can you help? Please reach out to Auction and Sponsorship Chair Jaymie Kelly at PTA_Info@ps154.org.

BOOK FAIR

DEC 5-8 at PS 154

Please make plans to visit our Book Fair. All classes will have an opportunity to shop during school. We will also be open during Parent Teacher Conferences on Dec 7 with an additional adult selection. 35% of the proceeds will go to the PTA! Thank you Fork + Pencil! Books start at $5 and go up from there. We will also have used books for $1. Parents and family, please sign up to help.

Also, save your USED BOOKS! We'd love to sell any gently used elementary age appropriate books at the fair and will be accepting them Mon, Nov 27 through Fri, Dec 1 in the MMR.

GENERATIONS CAMPAIGN

This campaign aims to share all the incredible PTA funded programs that our children benefit from with your family. We do this by collecting names of grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles and special friends to whom we make a one-time annual fund appeal. Please give us contact information!

JUICE BOX WINE & SPIRITS BENEFIT FOR PS 154

Stop by Juice Box Wine & Spirits and buy a bottle of the 10th Anniversary Cuvée. This Pinot Noir wine celebrates Juice Box's ten years in business. Thanks Jane and Eliot Rennert, owners of Juice Box and parents of PS 154 graduates, who are donating a percentage of the proceeds to the PTA as a charitable gift. We just received our first check — almost $400!

PS 154 THANKS YOU

Thank you to PTA Membership Chair Teri Roth and to Double Windsor for the fun New Parent Happy Hour on November 7. We were happy to see a nice crowd on a rainy and cold evening. Thanks also to everyone who joined us. We’ll do it again soon!
