TODAY - All-School Assembly with Peter Nestler of Jump Rope Masters

Thanks to our PE teacher Ms. Moore for arranging this gathering to kick off our Jump Rope for Heart Campaign, funded by YOU — our PTA! Be sure to ask your kids about it!

DIVERSITY COMMITTEE UPDATE

We’re grateful to the 50 parents & teachers who joined us at our first meeting on January 26. We had interpretation into ASL (American Sign Language) and Spanish. Chinese interpretation was also available.

Thus far, we’ve been surveying diversity efforts at other District 15 schools, collecting resources about programs/trainings for schools, professional development, and the community, learning more about the diversity initiatives of the NYC DOE, and discovering areas of interest for our own school. Areas of interest identified at the meeting were: staffing and professional development, curriculum and extra-curriculars, student body and community relations.

Next meeting is Feb 16, 6:30 pm where we’ll gather according to interest to identify issues of focus, and discuss ideas for approaches/solutions.
Join the Committee online, here.
