IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM SCHOOL FOODS

As you may know, NYC has Free School Lunch for All in our Public Schools. As a result, it is no longer necessary for families to maintain a MySchoolBucks lunch money account for their students and we will be refunding all families with remaining balances. If you have a remaining balance for your student’s MySchoolBucks account, the DOE will refund you. A check will be mailed to the parent or guardian at the home address on file for the student. Please contact the main office by December 15, 2017 if your address changed since you last registered to make sure it is correct (changing on the Blue Card does not change the address in the DOE system). If you have any questions, please send an email to: SFLunchRefunds@schools.nyc.gov.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

All New York City residents with children born in 2013 can apply now to kindergarten until January 12, 2018 one of three ways below (PS 154 does not handle initial registration.). Info here.

This campaign aims to share all the incredible PTA funded programs that our children benefit from with your family. We do this by collecting names of grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles and special friends to whom we make a one-time annual fund appeal. Please give us contact information!

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

THURS, DEC 7- DISMISSAL AT 11:30 AM

Touch base with your teacher if you have questions about your appointment time.

Please remember, it is difficult to meet with everyone in the short time teachers are given for this.  Teachers are allotted a limited amount of time on this day to discuss your child's progress so we are asking that you arrive on time to your appointments.  If you are late, you will most likely have to reschedule for another date. The teachers have to keep to their schedule so they will need to limit your questions.  If you have other concerns that aren't able to be discussed, please send a note to your teacher to meet at another time.

In addition, if you cannot meet on December 7 during the times available (12:30pm – 2:30pm or 4:30pm - 7:30pm), please make alternate arrangements directly with your teachers. (Throughout the year, dedicated time for parents to conference with teachers is on Tuesdays after school. You can contact your child’s teacher for more information about this parent time.)

Please make plans to visit our Book Fair. All classes will have an opportunity to shop during school. We will also be open during Parent Teacher Conferences on Dec 7 with an additional adult selection. Books start at $5 and go up from there. 25% of the proceeds will go to the PTA! Please join the District 15 Community Education Council for a FREE child friendly theatrical event by the Epic Theater Ensemble.

Conceived, written, and performed by NYC Public High School students, LAUNDRY CITY is a hilarious and provocative exploration of what “Separate but Equal” means to us today.

A panel discussion on equity and diversity in District 15 will follow the performance. Many thanks to the co-sponsors who made this performance possible.
